Dr. Hassan Buhari Tafida is a distinguished business leader, entrepreneur, and visionary advocate for private sector development in Zamfara State. As President of ZACCIMA, he leads the apex body representing commerce, industry, mining, and agriculture, championing policies that foster economic growth, investment attraction, and industrial revival amid regional challenges.
A seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in business (including as MD of Hascon Petroleum Nig Ltd), Dr. Tafida assumed the presidency following his appointment in late 2023 and has since driven impactful initiatives. Under his leadership, ZACCIMA has facilitated over ₦263 million in government grants to members (including ₦150,000 to 1,000 beneficiaries and ₦1 million to 60 strategic entrepreneurs), applied for ₦20 billion in soft loans, advocated for the resuscitation of moribund industries, promoted regional trade through AfCFTA sensitization, and strengthened partnerships with the Zamfara State Government, NACCIMA, FWCCI, and international bodies like the American Chamber of Commerce.
He has consistently highlighted the need for improved security to unlock socio-economic potential, equitable resource sharing in national policies, digital commerce adoption, and collaborative governance for sustainable diversification. His tenure has revitalized the chamber from institutional and financial constraints to a more connected, resilient voice for Zamfara’s entrepreneurs, traders, manufacturers, miners, and farmers.
